Vintage car radio Unitra Safari 2 made in Poland
made in years 1974-1981
Transistor construction, 12 V power supply.
Originally, the FM range was for OIRT only, which is not usable these days, so a double-band converter was built in to use at least a part of the today's CCIR FM range. This way, stations in ranges around 89.5 to 103.5 MHz can be received. Band switch is connected to the outside via cables (see photo).
AM ranges show only noise, but that is expected because there is only one antenna and that is connected to the FM converter.
Otherwise, the FM band IF transformers etc. are tuned and old capacitors replaced.
There is also a speaker for the radio so that it can be used also without a car :)
To use this radio, you just have to connect the power supply and antenna.
