EXPERIENCE:
I've been a math tutor for about 7 years.

I started out as a teaching assistant in university, helping to the students who took my assigned courses (a common job for graduate students). However, I realised I that I liked teaching and took my work online. In all I've probably tutored hundreds of students in person (in large lecture halls, and during office hours on campus), and a few dozen online.

I work with students from elementary school to college / university, though most of my experience has been with middle-schoolers, high-schoolers, and college students. I also have particular experience with the British secondary education system, but I've worked with students from other jurisdictions as well.

TEACHING STYLE:
My style is generally quite casual, relaxed, and focused on solving problems. For topics that students are unfamiliar with, I start with simple questions, and gradually work my way up to the sorts of problems that they'd face in a real exam (I usually use problems from previous exams in fact - and I make sure to mention this after students are able to solve them to boost their confidence).

I tend to be more jovial and approachable with students that are shy or reserved, something I often encounter in students that have low confidence or anxiety. My service also comes with reports on each session with the student, as well as homework.

STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS:
Finally, I've also got some experience teaching students that have learning disabilities, though I'm not an expert when it comes to their pedagogical needs.
