Vintage Sears Discoverer 7x35mm Binoculars
Description
Vintage Sears binoculars aren't hard to find (Sears was after all, the Walmart of its time), but this is a much older model, I believe this is dated late 1950 based on the marking locations and comparing to old advertisements. This is also in a lot better condition than most as this was in a warehouse storage the last half century, so it is essentially new (assuming it wasn't a return or something). The leather straps are very dry, so I suggest using leather reconditioned to rehydrate it before using to avoid cracking.
Magnesium casing and amber anti-glare lens (note, it doesn't tint the image amber). Very wide 87.5 degree FOV without any image distortion. Modern military binoculars in the $1000 range are noticeably better, but really not by that much. Just goes to show how much better quality things were in the past compared to today given these were considered cheap consumer grade binoculars in its day.
Includes original leather case.
