XMR Tix Monero Raffle tries to be as transparent and fair as possible. The problem with many online lotteries is that the drawing process is opaque and prone to manipulation. It is often the case that there are no winners at all, prize money accumulates in jackpots or something similar. At XMR Tix, Monero is not only the currency in which tickets are purchased and the prize is distributed, but it is the Monero blockchain that provides the ticket numbers and also plays the role of luck.
The ticket number you receive when you purchase a ticket is the transaction ID of your purchase! Furthermore, the raffle will take place when the prize money reaches 1 XMR meaning 100 tickets have been sold. When this milestone is reached, then the next block that is divisible by 5000 provides our winning number. After at least 10 confirmations, the block hash of this block is taken and compared with the participating transaction IDs using a "hamming distance" algorithm. The TX ID that is most similar to the block hash in this comparison wins category one; in the event of a tie between several participating transaction IDs, the prize money is shared. This is also the case in the other two price categories.

In the first prize category, winners win 65% of the pot. 17% of the prize money will be distributed to the second place winners and 8% to the third place winners. The remaining 10% of the pot will be split up. 7% will be donated to the "Monero Community Crowdfunding System" (CCS). The leftover 3% are used for transaction fees, to pay for hosting as well as for administration and maintenance of the site.
Goal is to have gambling fun combined with the funding of the monero developer community and be selfsufficient at the same time.
