Essentially, you can create your very own video website tailored to your interests while interacting with other Peertube instances.

I have my own Peertube, and I allow people to upload to it. I have gotten a nice diverse group of people on my Peertube, ranging from children making funny videos to technology enthusiasts making tutorials. Peertube feels very human compared to Youtube and other platforms which have turned into a means of people making money, which has sucked all of the personality out of video making.
