In May 2024, Marconius Solidius (@M_Solidus on Twitter) made his website public. At the time, it seems his objective was to promote "Sovereign Chat", an AI to help answer questions about privacy. The site was a basic newsletter signup. Title: "Learn Online Privacy & Security | Sovereign Outcomes"

Between May-August 2024, multiple edits were made. Sections added and removed. Standard conversion optimization... until the site transformed into something else entirely.

In June 2024, WatchmanPrivacy launched "Escape The Technocracy" an e-learning platform with high quality tutorials, bold branding and radical cyberpunk design.

Sometime in July 2024, @M_Solidus added "ESCAPE THE DYSTOPIA AND GET THE E-BOOK NOW" as his call to action, replacing the boring "Secure your Digital Life." Notice also that at the time, the client reviews section used the wording "Client Testimonials."

This was buried at the bottom of a long scroll page. Just the beginning. Over the next few months, more elements from Escape The Technocracy would appear... "Dystopia" replacing "Technocracy." Same structure. Same energy. Same positioning.

But it gets worse, much worse.

From this point forward, every feature "Escape The Technocracy" released got copied. Lower quality. Often dangerous advice.

The pattern:
• "Lock your price in" ✓
• "Buy once, free updates for life" ✓
• Checklist & bonus (added RIGHT after WatchmanPrivacy & Steven Harris dropped the tactical course) ✓

Remember "Client Testimonials"? Yeah. Even that boring shit got copied. Similar wording and everything. Absolutely shameless🙁

I personally don't care about copyright. I care about bad advice getting people hurt.

Copying marketing? Whatever. Copying security guidance without understanding it? That gets people doxxed, hacked, or worse.
If you can't build your own course, you probably shouldn't be teaching security.
