“Going My Way” - Original Mixed Media On Velum By Artist Samuel Shapiro
Description
This unique piece is an original artwork, untitled and unsigned, attributed to the late Samuel Shapiro (1921-1999), believed to have been crafted in the early 1950s. The painting showcases a striking magenta 1950s Buick concept vehicle, depicted with a military figure at the wheel casting a glance at a stylized, attractive extraterrestrial female figure, with a jet aircraft looming in the backdrop.
The medium is translucent vellum, measuring 8.5 by 11 inches, presented over a contrasting black paper. Historical storage of the painting was in a plastic sleeve, pre-punched for a three-ring binder, as evidenced by the accompanying photographs.
While the original black and white images portraying Samuel Shapiro in a mid-20th-century automotive design studio in Detroit, Michigan—where he was instrumental in constructing full-scale automobile prototypes—are not part of the sale, photocopies of these images will be provided to substantiate the painting's lineage and enhance its collectible value.
Certificate of Authenticity included with purchase.
From the private collection of Sam Shapiro’s family estate.
Shipping arrangements provided by private courier such as Navis Pack & Ship.
