What Does the Metadata Scrubber Do?

The original files are overwritten with metadata-free versions. This means that after running the tool, the original file is replaced with a "clean" version that no longer contains metadata.
This is a Linux AppImage that can be run without requiring installation.

Every time you take a photo, create a document, or save a file, hidden data (metadata) is stored inside it. This metadata can include:
GPS Location (Where the photo was taken)
Camera Details (Your camera model, settings, and sometimes even your name)
Author Info (For documents, it might contain your name, computer info, or company name)
Edit History (PDFs and images can store previous versions or timestamps)

Why is This a Privacy Risk?
When you share a file online—whether it's a picture, a document, or a PDF—you might be exposing personal details without realizing it. For example:
A selfie you post could reveal your home location if GPS data is embedded.
A PDF resume could still have your computer's username hidden inside.
A photo from your phone could include timestamps and device info that tracks you.

It scans your files for hidden metadata
It removes all identifying data while keeping the file intact
