Tutoring in [Math/Chemistry/Physics] ENG/GER
Description
First and foremost: welcome to my listing! I’m Hero :)
Who am I?
As of now, I am an undergraduate student pursuing my Mathematics degree at ETH Zürich, but my path started with a deep dive into Chemistry and Maths during my German Abitur.
I’ll be honest: science and math aren't always easy. Nothing beats the frustration of a seemingly trivial problem everyone seems to get instantly, whereas even comprehending the question seems insurmountable to you. But often, what it takes is simply someone with the patience and foresight to guide you step-by-step through the question and onto the solution - not by giving it freely, but by making it feel like (and then also then making sure that) it was something you could have done on your own ^^.
Not only do I bring the rigor of my ETH background to our sessions, but I also pair it with the patience of someone who is still a student themselves.
What you can expect from me:
Adaptability: Are you more of a visual person? Interested in knowing "why" and not just "how" (or the other way around)? Just need to cram for an exam in a week? Whatever it is, I'll do my best to make your time with me worth it by tailoring our sessions to your individual needs.
Building Confidence: Often, the barrier isn't a lack of intelligence, but a lack of confidence. I focus on building your problem-solving "muscles" so you can tackle new problems independently.
Abiturient (German High School Graduate): Specifically for students navigating the German Abitur, I can give tailored assistance and provide learning resources (like past abitur exams and solutions) to make success a guarantee.
Bilingual Support: I am happy to teach in either German or English, depending on which language makes you feel most comfortable.
Free Introductory Session
Because I believe the student-tutor fit is one of, if not the most important factor in tutoring, I offer the first introductory session for free to all new students. This is a zero-pressure "vibe check" where we can:
- Discuss your specific goals and where you are currently struggling.
- Test our technical setup (audio, video, and whiteboard).
- See if my teaching style feels right for you before we ever exchange XMR.
Availability & Flexibility
As a student at ETH, my schedule might change with the academic cycle.
- Semester Time: I am generally available for sessions in the evenings and on weekends.
- Exam Phases: During the study phase (typically Feb/Aug), my hours might be more limited, but I always prioritize my regular students to ensure they are ready for their own deadlines.
