There's absolutely no guarantee that the moment you pay the loan this person won't freeze the account and yank it under you.
Multisig escrow won't save you as you can recover the amount in escrow but the money you put in his account will be gone...
Don't do it, there's little to no chance this won't turn out to be a scam...
