Right now boosts work in a market way: whoever pays more gets more visibility. This is vulnerable to become elitist, since people with bigger capitals outside the market can easily dominate at the top. Moreover, competition for the top six cards can be frustrating when the amount you invest can be outbid in half a day.
One of the interesting approaches to fix it would be a socialist selection of boosted listings, where you pay a certain amount of money or more, and your boost joins the queue, sooner or later securing a place in the top six cards on the first page for a certain period of time. This would give each listing proven their worth by paying the threshold amount an equal opportunity.
Obviously, this has its drawbacks. One amusing anarchist solution would be to combine a purely market-based approach with a socialist one: for example, the three left-hand cards on the first page would work as they do now, and the three right-hand cards would work as I described above.
Keep in mind that this is not a direct, serious proposal that I will fight for like Imam Shamil, but rather an opportunity to share ideas from my mind for review and discussion.

p.s.
obviously, i am not a state socialist. i hope users of this site are mature enough not to be afraid of the word "socialism"
p.s.s. i'm not complaining that my boosts aren't visible, I'm genuinely sharing something funny that came to mind
