What are your thoughts on Zano? How about Firo & zCash?

May Zano be promising considering it's plans to make it easy to send any wrapped coins, making any cryptocurrency (e.g., Bitcoin, Litecoin) private? Bonus question: your thoughts on Firo & zCash?

I like Zano. I've been enthusiastic about DarkFi for quite a while, and Zano seems to be a good interim option and first to the "privacy EVM" party.

Privacy and decentralized stables, in my mind, are the two most important usecases for ACTUAL functioning cypherpunk economy. And Zano appears to have both. Plus wrapped coins, smart contracts... what's not to like/utilize?

Throwing out some thoughts here — I’m not a crypto expert or developer, just someone who’s been following Zano for a while and trying to think through its long-term risks objectively. As I see it, the project currently has three serious centralization bottlenecks:
- the core team is very visible and is essentially a single point of failure/risk,
- Freedom Dollar is 100 % tied to the Zano token price,
- almost all reputation and trust are concentrated in one team.

1. Purely as food for thought, what if the ecosystem moved toward a completely different model:Replace wrapped tokens with “red-hot” (or tempered) tokens
Token gets burned on the source chain → re-minted on the target chain through an annealing mechanism that automatically burns a small annealing fee on every transfer. Built-in deflation, no custodians, no oracles.

2. Add real competition not only between assets, but between manifestos
Anyone can publish a public manifesto (a set of verifiable promises/rules). Others explicitly co-sign it.
People then prove their alignment with real action: staking, launching tokens or aliases, building projects, running nodes, etc.

3. Reputation naturally spreads across all active contributors instead of staying with one founding team.
Run the whole thing on a DAG substrate from the start
Instant confirmations, near-zero fees, no PoW energy waste — and the graph structure fits perfectly with parallel manifestos and asset flows.

Just brainstorming aloud. This kind of design would simultaneously remove single-team dependency on the protocol, economic, and social levels.
