What do people think of Onlykey vs Yubikey?

https://onlykey.io/

I don't like how you have to keep buying new yubikeys in order to update them. I like how you can backup the onlykey data, and you can have a lot more accounts, although I'll still be using three keys for backups. I use a separate device that is air gapped for storing all my sensitive data so I'm not really concerned about any malware threats on the device being used. I'm also not concerned about key durability since I always put the key in its own waterproofed hard case in my pocket with things like my hardware wallet.

I found the ubiquity of Yubikey to be so prominent and more developed that the 2 OnlyKeys I purchased never got used anyway.
The learning and easy of use in YubiKey was more worth it, by comparison, as a result.. So I found.

The OnlyKey is better for opsec than YubiKey. I talked about it before in the privacy community, but they just called me a lunatic.

The reasons I prefer OnlyKeys is simple:

1) I can make a backup to a file. If you ever get raided, they're going to take ALL keys, which effectively locks you out of your accounts, passwords managers, and whatever else you use them before. OnlyKey's backup can be uploaded to an online server, so you can recover your data and all you need is access to the backup and a new OnlyKey.
2) The pin is useful as it will wipe itself after 10 incorrect tries. This is another very useful element as threat actors won't be able to access your data even if they have your password for whatever reason. This is huge, especially when plausible deniability matters.

YubiKeys are better suited for corporate use cases, but for opsec in this area, OnlyKey absolutely takes the cake.

Yes, this is my thoughts on it as well. Specifically, I like how the password manager is divided into sets of 12 so you can "unlock" only part of your accounts as necessary.

My biggest concern is if the actual code used isn't secure. I don't know anything about programming or security so the fact it is open source means nothing to me as I can't make sense of the code. As long as the 2FA function works, I actually don't care if any other part is not secure. My passwords are going to be leaked by website owners eventually in hacks, so I update my passwords at least once per year.
