GNU/Linux phone/PC, full warranty, modular, repairable, kill switches: Librem 5

Description

The Librem 5 is a smartphone and pocket computer designed to run freedom and privacy respecting GNU/Linux operating systems.

Features:
- Modularity: Battery, cellular modem, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card all user replaceable.
- Repairability: New screen costs only $96 and is user replacable. Old battery can be replaced with new one instead of being forced to buy a new phone. Charging port including USB-C PCBA also replaceable.
- Environmentally friendly: Just keep upgrading every 3-5 years like your computer. Purism has released hardware upgrades for this device in the form of new battery and Wi-Fi/BT module since earlier batches, and they are releasing a new global modem this year.
- Hardware kill switches to physically cut off power to the cellular modem, Wi-Fi/BT, Camera/Mic, or go full lockdown mode and cut power to the passive GNSS sensor as well.
- Supports multiple operating systems: PureOS (FSF/GNU endorsed) and Mobian (both are Debian based), postmarketOS (Alpine based - more bleeding edge).
- Multiple user interfaces: phosh (recommended), KDE Plasma Mobile, GNOME Mobile, SXMO (and COSMIC coming soon).
- Ability to run apps isolated in security sandbox using Flatpak and Bubblewrap - easy setup and usage.
- Mainline LTS Linux kernel (not old Android Linux kernel via Halium/Libhybris like proprietary alternatives).
- VoLTE functionality enabled out of the box.
- Full convergence: connect to a screen with dock to use as a computer - it already runs desktop apps by default.
- No online account needed to use app store or install apps. Multiple app stores supported.
- Analog 3.5mm headphone/headset jack!
- Expandable secondary storage via microSD card. Supports booting another OS instance via the microSD card.
- OpenPGP smart card slot for storing GPG private keys securely for advanced users.
- DisplayPort over USB-C: supports video out so you can connect to monitor.

Box includes:
- Librem 5 (brand new with one year warranty) preinstalled with PureOS Byzantium.
- Preinstalled cellular modem variant (BM818-E1 or BM818-T1) for Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East (matching your delivery address or you can specify). BM818-A1 modem for North America is out of stock, and global modem is expected to be available later this year.
- Official charger with plug for US/EU/UK/ASIA (not AU/NZ).*
- Official USB-C/DP charging cable.
- Headphones.
- Printed instructional materials.
- Customer support from Purism included as I will provide order data.

* AU/NZ users can get a travel adapter (not included) or just use the charging cable with a PC's high powered USB-C port.

For specs, see the official product page:

Extras possible to include for free:
- Installation of PureOS Crimson (currently in beta), or postmarketOS (latest stable) with phosh UI.
- Setting up of Flathub - either the full repo or the Open Source subset only.
- Help erasing the device and reinstalling the OS after you receive it (if you need it for reassurance).

Not included (but can be for additional payment):
- OpenPGP smart card.
- Extra modem variants for multiple regions.
- One additional battery.
- 65W charger for higher speed charging.
- 3 year warranty.
- Upgrade to Liberty Phone featuring more memory and internal storage.
- Any other additional accessories in stock from the Purism store.

NOTE:
Customs charges (if applicable) are responsibility of the buyer. The courier company will contact you to clear customs if required. You can check customs laws in your country (or just overthrow your government and rewrite the laws).

Why am I selling this?
I have multiple Librem 5s new and old along with older Linux phones which I do testing on for postmarketOS and other projects. I love Monero and want to provide people requiring privacy a way to buy the Librem 5 as Purism only accepts a few coins on their store. I have successfully tested Feather Wallet for Monero and Electrum Wallet for Bitcoin on this phone.
