i've selfhosted an email on a small server in my bedroom. here's why it's cool:

• big tech / corporation free
• cloudflare / aws / etc free
• tracking free, ad free, analytics free
• tor-friendly, non-profit, independent, etc

i.e. not a massive SaaS, just a small trustworthy service from a person to persons. very small number of mailboxes will be shared, if anyone's interested. the only drawback is that mail quota is limited to 100mb. some price just to ratelimit, all money will be donated to charity anyway.
