Hey XmrBazaar fans and our beloved Monero Matrix and X critics!

I know XmrBazaar has been getting roasted in the Matrix Monero group, on X/Twitter, and probably in other corners of the "crypternet" I am blissfully unaware of, all for that AI-generated banner since our launch. Look, we've been knee-deep in real functionality, new features, and fixing bugs because a fancy banner and design are worthless if the server's down and nobody can load the page to even see it. But we hear you loud and clear: Your feedback is the fuel for our improvements, the features you want, and yes, better banners too :) So, in response to the slop-shaming, we're launching the XmrBazaar Banner Design Competition to change that AI eyesore for something fresh, fabulous, and (fingers crossed) community-approved. You'll all be the judges: free-market Monero-style meritocracy!

The Vision: Keep it neutral: please no controversy, no politics, no subcultures of any stripe. We want something that appeals to everyone and their moms too, not just our hardcore Monero crowd. Remember, mass adoption is the endgame, not just pumping stats or tickling the tastebuds of our picky online art snobs. We're positioning ourselves as the opposite of the darknet market: Think the sunny, feel-good energy of a farmer's market, where your mom buys fresh strawberries; or eBay, where your non-crypto uncle hunts for antiques; or Etsy, where your cat-lady neighbor picks custom kitty sweaters; or even Craigslist, where the average deal-hunter gets his "like-new" couch. (As much as I personally love Monero-chan and the Pepe squad, let's keep those gems for our inner circle or for custom themes; see final note.)

The Challenge: Channel positive energy around opting out of the fiat and thriving on digital cash P2P with legal, everyday goods and services. But here's the real challenge: make it lovable for our current users too, since they're the judges, voting with forum upvotes, tips, comments, and feedback. I suspect lazy corporate Memphis designs or more AI slop won't survive that ;)

Specs:
- Dimensions: Long horizontal for desktop, square for mobile. Skip exact pixels: design it to scale gracefully across screen sizes.
- File Type & Size: PNG preferred, ideally under 2MB. We're flexible.
- Search Bar Position: Your call: top (Amazon-style), center (like our current style), or bottom (à la this). You should create a full banner with no "hole" for the search bar; we'll layer it in via CSS based on resolution.
- Sponsor Space: Carve out at least 20% for sponsor text and how to incorporate it into the main banner (think billboard or sign) and submit two files: 1) the full banner 2) the ad container solo as a transparent-background PNG. Example.
- Branding Fit: Match XmrBazaar's current look: our logo, color scheme, and positive energy.

How to Enter: Share your two-image entry as replies right here in this forum topic! Upload somewhere (like ImgBB or Imgur) first, then embed them via BBCode and explain your concept including search bar positioning.

The winner: The most-tipped banner wins... but we'll factor in everything: comments, feedback, and overall authenticity (especially given that bad actors may want to ruin the fair game for everyone by tipping from sock-puppet accounts to game the system). So vote, tip, and comment: Share why you love it, what tweaks it'd need, or just "This one's a winner!" Share your submission or your favorite one on social networks: X, Nostr, Matrix, or whatever internet corners you're lurking in to boost those upvotes and tips legitimately.

Let's flip this criticism into a community victory and turn XmrBazaar into the welcoming on-ramp to Monero magic for your friends, your grandma, and that one uncle who still thinks Bitcoin is "peer-to-peer digital cash."

Final note: I've heard rumors that if there are multiple banners loved by the community, we may want to implement them as "themes" in Settings, so you can choose which banner you see when logged in, with the winner as our default theme.

I saw the trollbox announcement and went full motor on this. It was after I had finished several sections that I saw the other specifics (in this thread), so I had to change a few things around. But hey, I'll just add this in here for the funnies.
