Sure would be nice if Zcash had some tangible utility value other than being a shittier version of Monero. I don't know anyone on the darknet who genuinely uses and accepts Zcash for anything. Any use case for it that Monero doesn't fulfill?

is it really shittier? it gives extra privacy compared to monero — actually the only good reason to still prefer monero is that it's wider accepted and older (thus more bullet-tested)

I don't think Zcash is very private though. It's like Chainalysis on steroids because the majority of people don't use the transaction screening pool. I don't have it though so IDK. I looked it up a while ago and wasn't that impressed, but it does have more mainstream approval on KYC exchanges than Monero. Which could be considered a bad thing to some.

Plus a lot of people don't want to use it because Zion Cash. Lots of people dislike that some of the cofounders were Israeli. Even though I'm sure there have been Israeli programmers who contributed to Monero at one point or another as well.
