Description

I built this service because it's something I would happily pay for but I couldn't find any existing solutions out there. I wanted to be able to have someone set up a WhatsApp account for me and provide an interface that I could send messages through using a web browser, to avoid every conversation I have being tied to me via my phone number.

This is something you could set up yourself, but you'd have to get another phone to install WhatsApp and set up another account on, ideally keep this in a separate physical location to your normal devices and networks to avoid them being associated with each other, get another SIM card and pay for a cell phone plan, set up a bridging service on your own server, and regularly open WhatsApp on the mobile device to keep the bridge connected. Quite a hassle. With Waxybridge, you don't have to worry about any of that, and it's probably cheaper than the cost of setting it up yourself.
