DESCRIPTION
A fantastic collection of 38 images of flying saucers taken by prominent mid-century UFOlogists George Adamski and Paul Villa. The photographs were sold as sets through UFO International, a Detroit-based periodical, and each set is accompanied by the original caption sheet laid in.
9.5x11.75" spiral-bound photo album with padded yellow covers, stiff self-adhesive sheets with plastic guards; 30 chromogenic prints and 8 silver gelatin prints, most measuring 5x3.5" though several are slightly larger. Included is one complete set of photos by George Adamski and two complete sets by Paul Villa.
There are ten more photographs in the album than noted on the sheets, so presumably one accompanying sheet is missing. Near Fine. Caption sheets are Near Fine to Very Good with toning and short splits along several folds.
Adamski's set is comprised of eight images, most of which were shot with a six-inch telescope at Palomar Gardens, California and depict an "interplanetary carrier and scout."
The two sets from Villa contain 7 and 13 images of flying saucers photographed around Albuquerque, NM. The caption sheet for "Villa Set No. 1" also relays details of his close encounter of the third kind, which lasted for 90 minutes: "They were very friendly and seemed to have answers to many of earth's problems. They were not superhuman but were superior mentally and physically to earth people [...] When talking to Mr. Villa they spoke in both English and Spanish (mostly Spanish.).
But when conversing among themselves they used their own language which sounded something akin to Hebrew and Italian." Villa sadly did not get a selfie with the aliens.
