Lie even more. I sent you a video. Aka_theAC already knew the hole, he told me that the messenger and the escrow are not reliable, so probably you know these for longer.

Yes, the nicknames are close the real ones, this is part of the problem.

As I add in PS: It would take 5 minutes to put the mediators' messages in red and 5 minutes to put a banner saying the links in the messenger are not reliable until you correct the bug.
You are 100% responsible and still did nothing.

There was no unedited screen recording with the browser console open. Impersonating with a working link to their actual profile is not possible. There are no technical security holes that allow this.

Phonetically/visually identical usernames are a human-level social-engineering tactic, not a security hole or technical exploit in computer-science terms.

"did nothing": just now, three new impersonators have been banned: xmrbizzare (with two Z’s), AililiA, and Dougas_Tuman. All accounts were registered today.

@aka_TheAC, please clarify what you meant: "Aka_theAC already knew the hole, he told me that the messenger and the escrow are not reliable".

I also use the nickname Dougas_tuman yesterday, it's easy to add a hidden letter in the name for the link. Scammer got the same idea.

This shouldn't be necessary to remove one by one accounts if you do the several suggested changes in this thread and others.
You will never block all variants, just correct the holes, answer your members in your messenger, like all websites.

Once again, that's a reason why the scammers succeed so easily. We even can't verify if they're real because you don't answer.
And you still don't answer me for 4 days since I've been scammed. Not even a sorry, not curious about of how upgrade, just ghosting your victims.

PS: Now I will speak about that in private, I already give too much public information considering the holes are all still present.

There were never any duplicated usernames or invisible characters.

Your private messages contain attempts at doxxing, extortion, and allusions to threats against a founder and even his family.

No, it contains information about the holes, putting you in front of your responsibilities and the fact that I find the address of the admin to sue him.

Despite this, you didn't have the politeness to answer any of them. So I will take the appropriate measures to protect the users of this scam site.

IDK if we'll hear from aka_TheAC as upon the claims when I asked about the subject, he said:
"no idea how it work"
"no idea what it is"
"I can’t invest time in this."

I tried putting some characters as user claims it's possible.
zero-width space U+200B ""
zero-width non-joiner U+200C "‌"
zero-width joiner U+200D "‍"
soft hyphen U+00AD ""
zero-width no-break/BOM U+FEFF ""

None reproduced a lookalike handle, and none produced a profile link that resolves to another user's profile.

At it's current form, due to lack of information of appropriate reproducible steps, lack of testimony, or even denial from supposed witnesses. This "bug report" or lack thereof is a wild goose chase, quite potentially manufactured.

User appears to gatekeep the supposed reproducible steps to trigger the supposed bug behind payment of the money they lost. If there's belief and desire to figure it out if this bug report is genuine or not, I might suggest putting a bounty of reasonable amount on it proportional to severity of potential bug. 0.1 XMR to 0.5 XMR payable to anyone on a reproduction the maintainers independently confirm, not reimbursement of a claimed loss. Otherwise, such bug report would be appropriate to just close due to lack of evidence under standard practice.

Well, since you cannot file a court claim pseudonymously and all your messages are backed up, a jury (and law enforcement, not you or me) will decide whether they contain actual threats against a person and his family with small children, as well as extortion/blackmail, and whether criminal charges are warranted.

All of these scams would have been avoidable by using the built-in non-custodial multisig escrow tool https://xmrbazaar.com/escrow-guide .
XmrBazaar’s whitelisted mediators are NOT supposed to handle any custodial escrow or receive funds directly: only the non-custodial multisig escrow is permitted. Users should NEVER trust or send money directly to ANYONE, including mediators or the XmrBazaar team (the sole exception being those who deliberately choose a risky direct trade while fully understanding and accepting the risks and bearing complete responsibility).

Under U.S. law, Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act shields platforms like Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace and XmrBazaar from liability for scams by their users. You transact directly with the other party: the site is NEVER a party to the deal. (Craigslist (or XmrBazaar) in particular processes no payments, holds no funds, verifies no identities, and offers no buyer/seller protection.)

We used the escrow!! That's why a mediator (fake) comes in the story, but it's bugged, this is one of the issues and part of the scam!!! You admit it's in beta. Once again aka_TheAC told me to "never use it, it's buggy", I didn't know then, I trusted you.

I am not in the USA!!! And I was scammed by DougIas Tuman because of site holes. There is no transaction no escrow on the market places you mentioned, and a normal private reporting.

It requires you 3 days and 2 more scammed people, only to locate the public scammer's account !! Meridia, Meridai.... with his 5/5 fake reviews (I trusted you again about that). He could change his nickname, another hole!!!

And with your "public reports", he could follow this thread, precede you and fool you during one entire week!!!!
Another big hole! That's why I repeated you to read and process your private messages!

Mediators need a badge, also all badges (blue check, red warning) should be displayed next to usernames in the message list view. A unique color for admin & mediator account names would also go a long way to mitigate problems like this.

Those who get scammed (myself included) bear responsibility for their screw-ups, but there are still ways to reduce the effectiveness of scammers that could be taken.

We speak about that on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/1v3fi0j/warning_XmrBazaar_security_holes/

For me, the more admin stays silent, the more I want to close this scam site and make him pay fines and compensations.

Note that there's no apologies and still no correction of any of the security holes from the admin. He only collects donations.
There's still new scams after 10 days. This is the plain responsibility of the site.

Fully fabricated reddit discussion. You are so piece of shit that you even decided to try destroy someone reputation, when you don't received what you want? You won't get refunded and administration is right about that. It was already explained to you few times that THERE IS NO BUG WITH PROFILE LINKS THAT ALLOW MEDIATOR IMPERSONATORS TO TRICK PROFILE URL LINKS TO LAND ON REAL MEDIATOR PAGES. EVEN IF THERE WAS SUCH BUG WEBSITE DOESN'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY WHERE YOU SEND YOUR XMR. XMR BAZAAR GIVES YOU OPTION TO TRADE SAFELY VIA MULTISIG ESCROW SYSTEM OR BY USING BONDED MERCHANT, BUT FOR SOME REASON YOU DECIDED TO NOT USE THAT SECURITY AND YOU SENT MONEY DIRECTLY TO THE SCAMMER POCKET. YOU WERE JUST TRICKED BY SCAMMER TO SEND MONEY DIRECTLY TO HIS POCKET OUTSIDE OF ESCROW SYSTEM. JUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR MISTAKE YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT AND STOP THAT CIRCUS.

Why US Americans insults the victims of scams? You're really a dumb people. Most scammed victims used the escrow, which is bugged. Now return play in your sand box.

"Mediators need a badge, also all badges (blue check, red warning) should be displayed next to usernames in the message list view. A unique color for admin & mediator account names would also go a long way to mitigate problems like this."

It was requested several times, but guess what?
We also need a LINK from the page https://xmrbazaar.com/search-mediators/ to the profile. How can we verify we're speaking to the real mediator?

I would be happy to make a list of others holes, but I still get no answer from admin, they're not interested in protecting their members.

Full responsibility. Once again, the more admin stays silent, the more I want to close this scam site and make him pay fines and compensations. He has a despicable behaviour.

Scammer makes you think that escrow is bugged to proceed outside of escrow... This is where you fucked up. I also think that XMR is not secure enough. Monero should implement mandatory kyc verification before every payment to protect naive people.

"Scammer makes you think that escrow is bugged"

It's literally written on it "warning, escrow is on beta, use for small amounts only".
I learnt afterward that it's really bugged and some mediators recommend to not use it.
In addition, it's trapped: no escrow address is shown until the 3 persons are not connected to it. Why not give the address immediately? Scammers couldn't pretend giving it.

When there's one victim, you can blame him, but when there's a new victim everyday you can blame the site.

You are amazingly dumb, aren't you? It's not bugged. THE SCAMMER LIED TO YOU AND TOLD YOU IT WAS BUGGED. THE SCAMMER WAS A FAKE ESCROW MEDIATOR AND YOU DIDN'T CLICK ON THEIR NAME TO FIND OUT.

>It was requested several times, but guess what?

It's been implemented. This and a more cautious attitude from users mitigates a lot of the problem.

If we wanted extra scam-proofing, I'd advise the escrow page and escrow guide both have their first message, in bold text, all red, at the top: "MEDIATORS WILL NEVER ASK FOR PAYMENT IN DMs" etc.

Recent updates:
- Added green “verified admin” and blue “verified mediator” badges (https://x.com/xmragora/status/2081542830648963139)
- Messenger now displays badges (verified admin, verified mediator, warning, donor, bond)

- Added “delete conversation” button to the messenger
- Empty conversations are now hidden in the messenger
- Social media verification badges have been removed
- Removed the digital downloads file-upload feature. This only affects uploaded files, external download links and unique codes still work
- Disabled username changes.

Regarding non-custodial multisig escrow concerns:

- Monero multisig requires input from all three participants to set up the wallet. It is technically impossible to generate a 2-of-3 multisig address without contributions from all three parties (even using the official Monero CLI). See the documentation: https://docs.getmonero.org/multisignature/
This is exactly why the escrow address is only shown once all three participants are connected. Providing the address earlier is not possible.

- Any mediators who recommend against using the escrow will be removed from the mediators list.

- The “beta” label on XmrBazaar non-custodial multisig escrow will also be removed. Scammers have been using that warning as an excuse to avoid multisig. After more than two years of active use, the only remaining issues are related to individual users' internet connections, VPNs and browsers/some plugins, but funds can always be recovered via the CLI if needed. There is no risk of permanent fund loss (only 'inconvenience', read more: https://themeritocrat.substack.com/i/180423162/the-ultimate-proof-that-its-just-multisig-you-can-do-everything-without-XmrBazaar) unlike with 'convenient and polite' scammers.

If y'all want to be safe from scammers, just watch this listing for all "reviews".

https://xmrbazaar.com/listing/C6Pn/

- Direct pay only (no escrow... yeah bs)
- Tons of repeated transactions, many on the same day as "other accounts"
- Some of these account sprinkle in some mediated escrow trades to himself, using AilliA as the mediator to make it look nice in their review section (Glad AilliA is benefiting at least!!)

0 trades.

Name created within the last month.

Same pattern of random name creation.

Same pattern of taking escrow offers then attempting to dodge escrow.

Do the work for free. Post it on a public pastebin.

Then I might call you anything but a scammer.

Reported user: EuroNOVA https://xmrbazaar.com/user/EuroNOVA/
Date: Jul 16, 2026
Details:

He allegedly scammed “cyborgx1337.” If you scroll down to the review section, you’ll see a 1-star review. I also spoke with cyborgx1337, who said they were scammed by him for €340. Unfortunately, cyborgx1337 didn’t report him on the forum.

Wouldn’t this be enough to require bond insurance from EuroNOVA? I understand there’s no solid evidence beyond the 1-star review, but the account already appears to have been built up with 60 fake reviews. So at some point, an unaware buyer may come to the Bazaar and be scammed.

Based on the amount of money invested in the profile, this looks like a likely exit scam in the range of €1,000–€2,000. The user also frequently boosts listings and has donated 0.1+ XMR to receive a badge. It feels like the only thing left is time before this happens.

cyborgx1337 hasn’t been online for a while, so I don’t know how you spoke to him.
Also, it’s PayPal. They are chargeback friendly. They will reverse your funds for nearly anything.
It’s hard to believe that one would get scammed over a PayPal transaction, and if they did, they just need to cry to paypal about it.

A few days after this happened, I spoke with him and suggested he report the issue on the forum, but he never did. It doesn’t matter that it was PayPal. PayPal—crypto trades are often handled as “friends and family,” which can’t be charged back. I don’t understand why people keep defending EuroNOVA. His profile looks completely fake: check the like count on his listing and the reviews. In a while, you’ll remember my words.

i did send him the xmr
he said transaction is done, and asked me if i received (15.07)
then he said "my client told me the account got restricted while sending"
then i said, whatever just send to a bank account

"Check your account please. Sent" (16.07)
i did checked .. nothing, then he wanted date of birth ? i didnt send this data.. he said its important to make bank transaction ..whatever ..
so i told him if he is not able to send either paypal or bank, he should refund me on XMR

then i told me he just send 200€ (instead of 275€ to the bank account) i told him i send 340 minus fee is 275 instead of 200€, he excused himself
i should check the bank account and "let him know when u receive)
i told him i did not receive anything, so he replied that his IBAN account got restricted too.

i told him again to refund to XMR
he said he dont have the funds rn, the bank verification need like 10 days (21.07)

as i already thought, its kinda a scam and its not much money, i waited again.
he told me last week
"Give me a week, I'll get you a refund if i wont have bought another paypal, ..." (27.07)
So finally i did asked him today again about the status, as like 10 days are over but i left read on SimpleX

+ as the deadline (today) nothing received .. i finally post a report here

Hello everyone,
I want to address this matter openly and honestly.
I am aware of the dispute and take full responsibility for communicating my situation. I made two separate attempts to send the refund to the client, but unfortunately both of the accounts I tried to use were restricted before the transactions could be completed.
I spoke directly with the client, explained everything transparently, and we reached an understanding. I committed to refunding the full amount as soon as I have sufficient funds available and I fully intend to honor that commitment.
This situation has genuinely been heartbreaking for me. My reputation on XmrBazaar means a great deal and I've always tried to be a trustworthy and reliable trader. The trust of this community is something I value deeply and it pains me that this incident has affected that trust.
I sincerely ask the admins and the community to consider my history and give me the opportunity to make this right. I understand that any decision made is ultimately at the discretion of the administration and I will respect whatever decision is reached.

Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.

Sometimes things like this happen, but the fact that your accounts were blocked is not the customer’s problem—it’s your problem. The customer fulfilled their part of the obligation: they sent you the money. Even so, I think there is still a way out of this situation. In my opinion, appropriate compensation would be a refund of XMR to the customer with a 10% extra amount for the delay. I’m completely disregarding the fact that your profile is entirely falsified using fake reviews and an unnatural amount of upvotes on your offers, and in my view you’re a scammer who will do an exit scam the next time the customer sends you 1000 Euros via direct transfer mode. In my opinion, EuroNova should have bond insurance and refund XMR with 10% extra amount to cyborgx1337 to justify this.

If you do not have sufficient funds to conduct your operations, a bond or escrow-only requirement is warranted in your case. Please refer to: https://xmrbazaar.com/forum/topic/294/

A warning placeholder will be added to your account until you refund your customer and fulfil one of the following two options: either obtain a bond, or change ALL your offers to multisig escrow only.

XmrBazaar, you continue to make a joke out of yourselves, and somehow you seem to be promoting the scammers, pardon me for using a very fresh account, but this is to avoid being targeted I will give a few examples

How are the following people best sellers
https://xmrbazaar.com/user/snex/ --- only 4 completed trades
https://xmrbazaar.com/user/USAGI/---only 16 completed trades
https://xmrbazaar.com/user/SoulReaver/---only 2 completed trades
https://xmrbazaar.com/user/MiCocco/---only 3 completed trades

I wont keep searching coz I'm sure there are plenty more, are these people bribing you to make them top sellers ? Because it clearly defies logic how you have given this badge, which will lead to newcomers trusting the above accounts on the basis of your badges. How easy will it be for them to plan exit scams ? You need to be more serious, this is such a joke

Top Seller ≠ highest sales volume.
No public metric will ever be published: once known, it can be gamed.
But it is based on authenticity (as USAGI correctly noted) and broader reputation (including outside XmrBazaar).

So, someone new comes onto the site, they see someone with 2 trades, and he is called a top seller, and they should just run with it? Why do you even take donations from people if you want to run this site like a dictatorship? Your stupid ego, will unfortunately be your downfall, I hope you are using that 77XMR wisely, because yeah, you do take people for granted

If you want to include stats from outside XmrBazaar, you have to clearly show where the stats are coming from, someone came here and impersonated Camylopez and scammed people, because there was no authentication of any sort. There are thousands of traders with good reputation, and if the reputation is not properly imported, how easy is it for scammers to go and farm for good traders info and come to use it here. And another thing, be open to criticism, denying everything and trying to seem correct is pathetic to say the least. Members have been patient with you. You promised to release the source code if you met donation goal, you did, then went mute on that, you're now probably a bigger scammer than the small fish we see here, because scamming is obtaining financial advantage by deception, and can you say we are wrong when we say you deceived us by coercing us to donate in the hope that we'd be able to contribute to the source code

Says the guy (AnonymousHorse) who ghosted me on a planned meetup after trying to get me to send him some XMR up front. And I'm sorry, but I'm still out ~$650 worth of XMR after I did my damndest to use the escrow system here. I got an escrow backup download and everything.

The criteria for the badge are too low. It is like giving black belt to someone who is 3rd time on training.

I don't think we have reliable metric here to measure who is top seller. If we use sales or reviews count for that purpose then it would favor services that generate a lot of sales/reviews, but they might have low cash volume e.g. one merchant sold 500 telegram accounts getting 500 sales and 500$ profit while another merchant completed 1 year IT project getting 1 sale and 50,000$ profit.

Good metric to measure who have bigger dick would be generated financial volume, but it is too easy to fake, because you can write any amount into inputs without any verification. It would also require different thresholds per sale category which would be pain to develop with this market model.

Best idea that currently comes into my mind would be hand picking top sellers by admin. That would be probably easiest and most reliable for anonymous market,

Also have to be aware that recorded stats may not necessarily paint a full picture.

There are multiple steps to completing a trade, and some people may simply not finish pressing completad trade. If there is no escrow which it seems happens a lot, there may even be no trade stated let alone left hanging.

What if you have to earn the right to have a direct trade, I mean, say you have a bond, like CamyIopez, who has his 5XMR just sitting on XmrBazaar, then people can open a direct trade with you. The rest, escrow must be mandatory, the privilege to get a direct trade must be earned, you'll realise scammers will have it hard if that were the case, and having to create new accounts after a scam won't help. Also, seeing from this thread, AilliaA has been doing a tremendous job, but wouldn't it help to have either Soulreaver or Easterncapybara to assist, I mean, target has been exceeded, so even an extra .5 xmr monthly paid to them shouldn't hurt.

Another example,
You mentioned new users creating listings for buying/selling xmr will have a potential scam warning on their site, unless they pay a bond,

This particular user,

https://xmrbazaar.com/user/LightningMcQueen/

Got the warning, now he's back, warning removed, but there is no update on whether he paid the bond or not. Tbh, I wouldnt care a bit if you hadn't accepted donations from people, but you did. So can you explain why he no longer has the scam warning? And why his listing is available even though he paid no bond? Are you accepting payments under the table ? Are you corrupt? I swear if I were to devote my time to this, I'd write some issue every hour. Be transparent, period

LightningMcQueen no longer has a warning because they agreed to restrict themself to Escrow-only listings (no direct-payment options) for the time being. They can either continue under that restriction or get a bond later if they want to unlock direct-payment listings.

But you are literally going against your own words, you said paying bond was the condition, what if he talks people into trading outside escrow? What scammers want is initiation right ? You yourself, AilliA, stated that the only way for the scam warning to be removed was if bond was paid. If he was a serious enough traders, how can't he afford bond ? Provided it's refundable? Transparency shouldnt be very hard to achieve, but you and Doug are making a mess of it, esp considering you conveniently avoid answering questions about the source code, sorry to say, you may be on a different dimension, but such actions amount to scamming

"Top seller" is probably the wrong label. I don't sell anything here. I am just somebody who is well known and a public figure that has developed trust both on and off the platform. Call me "verified" or something like that.
